A new backup drive

My 7 year old WD backup disk failed about a month ago, you don’t notice a thing except that MacOs tells after a month that no backups were made in the last 20 days. I checked the system log and I had i/o errors on this disk. Did not even attempt to repair it, 7 years is a nice service time, not excellent, but nice. A new USB-3 drive of 2TB is now doing it job, remove the NTFS section, format a OSX journaled file system and tell time machine to continue with this new drive.
