Download wspr-x from the internet, tell it what your transceiver is, report what you hear on the air to the server, and let it send out CQ’s which are also reported by listeners. This is what I got for 40 meter this morning, max transmit power was roughly 10 Watt, it is handled via CAT control by the wspr-x application, there is little to adjust.
The 40m band is still open, but the 20 meter band is really closed at the moment. The largest distance was apparently 1801 km. Didn’t put it on the scope yet, but also think that this idea has little success unless you could convince wspr-x into some sort of constant modulation so you can trigger the scope on that.
